Monitoring and verification for 3-part differential

Proper internal quality control using reliable control material is essential for maintaining high standards in test results for haematological analyses. Eightcheck-3WP lets you easily monitor and verify your analyser’s performance. It provides confirmed control data for the eight CBC parameters plus additional analytical parameters referring to the trimodal WBC distribution curve and the RBC and PLT histograms.

It has been designed specifically for your instruments so you can thoroughly check your Sysmex 3-part differential analyser’s technical functions and reagent systems.

Widely applicable

The product is available in three different concentration levels: Eightcheck-3WP ‘Normal’ covers the normal range, Eightcheck-3WP ‘Low’ is used for the low abnormal range and Eightcheck-3WP ‘High’ monitors the high abnormal range. This control blood can be used with a wide range of Sysmex’s automated haematology analysers, such as XP-300, KX-21, KX-21N, K-1000, K-4500, pocH-100i and pocH-100iV DIFF.

The vials are equipped with a pierceable cap to enable closed mode analysis on K-4500 and pocH-100i. This enhances the efficiency of quality control processes in your laboratory.

Entering assay data

Eightcheck-3WP comes with assay sheets that provide the assay data as mean values and ranges. Additionally, bar-coded assay sheets are provided for data input via a hand-held barcode reader on XP-300, pocH-100i and pocH-100iV DIFF.

Safe and ready to use

Eightcheck-3WP has been tested and found to be non-reactive for hepatitis B surface antigen, hepatitis C virus (HCV) and HIV1/HIV2 antibody using techniques specified by the FDA. The careful packaging of Eightcheck-3WP protects it from evaporation and damage and enables the long product stability.

External quality control with XP-300

External quality control with XP-300

Using Eightcheck-3WP and the networking capabilities of the XP-300 analyser, we offer an Internet-based external quality control service – IQAS Online - which is part of the Sysmex Network Communication System (SNCS).

In parallel with the internal QC based on Eightcheck-3WP, which remains local on the analyser, results are transferred automatically to an external computer. They are then compared to results of other systems of the same type. Just a few minutes after performing the measurement, a performance comparison to international peer group data and  the familiar assay value comparison of the internal QC is available. Individual results can be viewed on the SNCS website after a password-protected log-in specifying your details.

You are informed automatically if results deviate significantly, thus enabling you to take appropriate countermeasures without delay. SNCS IQAS Online is a unique integration of daily QC and international external quality control in a single common QC measurement. It provides a daily external QC scheme without the need for any additional control material.

Assay date and product stability

Assay data are provided as mean values and ranges (upper and lower limit) on assay sheets; for XP-300, pocH-100i and pocH-100iV DIFF additionally as barcodes on bar-coded assay sheets.

Assay data are monitored daily for all parameters to ensure reliable performance of the control blood products throughout the period of use. Open vials and vials that have been sampled by cap piercing will remain stable for 7 days.

Technical data

The control material can be used for a period of 12 weeks. It should be stored at 2–8 °C before and after opening. Each Eightcheck vial contains 4.6 mL (large vial) or 1.5 mL (small vial).
