What is POCT? It is rumoured to be a field with high growth potential.
POCT stands for Point-Of-Care Testing, which can be carried out in operating rooms, in intensive care units, or at the patient's bedside, rather than in central laboratories that routinely examine large numbers of blood and urine samples, in order to enable faster diagnosis.
We will expand our lineup in this strategically important business by developing our own products, such as rapid influenza diagnostic kits, and licensing in POCT products through business alliances.
We will also offer software that allows customers to manage POCT products on a network by centralizing and sharing information, thereby offering comprehensive support for customer-specific testing environments.

How do you utilize IT in the healthcare field?
Medical laboratories require advanced, diverse, low-cost testing systems. We offer total solutions for these needs, providing a link between instruments, reagents, and IT. Examples include the management via a network of test data reported through a variety of instruments, and the development of software that permits compatibility and efficient use of a wide array of data.
We are also striving to create optimal testing environments for the entire Group by setting up software development subsidiaries in the US, Belgium, China, New Zealand and Slovakia, and by integrating their know-how with IT product development bases in Japan.
In 2005, CNA Co., Ltd., who develops and sells laboratory information systems for medical institutions, was made into a Sysmex subsidiary.
