“We have installed in our laboratory two Sysmex XE2100 FBC analysers and the SIS system. We went ‘live’ in March 2008. Before that we used two Abbott CD4000’s.
The transition between the two systems was made painless by Sysmex. John Bleby managed the installation of the instrumentation and on-site staff training. This went very smoothly and our staff were very quickly confident users of the systems. The follow up in-depth instrumentation training at Sysmex H.Q. was very comprehensive, well-structured and informative. Both courses were excellent and I received very positive feedback.
Nikki Gardiner managed the reagent contract and supply logistics. I was most impressed by Nikki’s efficiency right from the start, and I continue to be impressed by the helpfulness of Nikki and her colleagues in the Reagents Dept.
Technical help, by Milly and Petra is first class, although I must admit, because of the total reliability of the XE’s I rarely need to bother them.
SIS installation and training was managed for us by Ken Turner and Craig Matthews. I relied on Ken’s patience very much, particularly on the SIS course, as I am not very hot on the I.T side! The connection of the SIS system and our host Telepath system was at times very ‘shakey’, not from the Sysmex side but because of delays with ISOFT. This was frustrating, as full functionality of the Sysmex systems took longer than we hoped, however, with Ken and Milly’s expertise these problems were soon overcome.
We are very impressed by the reliability, accuracy, simplicity of use, and low maintenance requirements of the XEs. We have found that the SIS system has saved us a lot of time and are impressed by the power and versatility of the software in monitoring and maintaining patient history.
We strive to achieve a very high level of accuracy and expertise in the results that we provide to our clinicians, which ultimately directly affects patient care, and our Sysmex systems have helped our biomedical scientists to maintain these standards.
